Lakes in India can be divided into many types for instance manmade lake as well as natural Lake and yet again the natural lake can once more divided as freshwater lake and brackish water lakes whereas most of the lakes in India are fresh water lakes.
1. Wular Lake, Jammu and Kashmir
Wular Lake is one of Largest Fresh Water Lake in Asia and the Largest Lake in India, Is Located as Jammu and Kashmir. It is measures 24 Kms across surrounding by towering mountains. The beautiful green water of the Lake provides life to the Fishes and other winged animal to around it. Dal Lake is also known as the Jewel in the crown of Kashmir or Srinagar’s Jewel. Such is the beauty of this lake. Dal Lake stands out as one of the Delightful Lake of India. 3. Loktak lake, Manipur
Loktak Lake is the Largest Fresh water Lake in North- East India and famous for the Phumdis floating over it. Loktak Lake is yet another beauty spot of the country. The most interesting thing about Loktak is that the only floating national park of the world Keibul Lamjao floats. This one also provides a support to the human communities around it. It is a support of water for hydropower generation, irrigation and drinking water supply. It is also a source of livelihood for the rural fishermen who live in the nearby areas.

Gurudongmar Lake is also known as Gurudogmar Lake, is one of the highest Lake in World. Gurudongmar Lake in Sikkim, Located at an altitude of 17,800 ft. 5. Damdama Lake, Haryana
Damdama Lake is one of the Biggest Lake in Haryana, And with an area of 3,000 acres. The lake that surrounded when a stone and earthen dam grew by the British in 1947, Damdama Lake is one of the best regular lakes in Haryana. Set near to the Aravali Hills and the best place for Boating, Rock Climbing, and Bungee bouncing and trekking, Sohna Hills a short commute from Damdama Lake, at the top the Aravali slopes.
