Bajirao Mastani Movie Review, Rating and Story

Bajirao Mastani Movie is based on the actual story and Indian history. In this film Bajirao is the Peshwa (PM) to the 4^th Maratha Emperor. He had divided his troops into 42 battles and they never have lost any war. Ranveer Singh is playing the character of Bajirao as Peshwa. Mastani (Deepika Padukone) is the daughter of a Hindu King and a Muslim court dancer. She was trained for martial arts, horse riding, household work and known for her extreme beauty. Bajirao (Ranveer Singh) and Mastani (Deepika Padukone ) met when Mastani’s father called him for saving his kingdom. In return his father gave Bajirao his daughter and they both fell in love with each other. In spite of getting married to Kashibai (Priyanka Chopra) Bajirao took Mastani as second wife. But Bajirao’s Mother Radhabai (Tanvi Azmi) didn’t accept her.

Few months later, both Kashibai (Priyanka chopra) and Mastani got Pregnant and gave birth to their sons. When Bajirao was out for a war, Kashibai’s son got killed at very young age and her families’ anger’s turned against Mastani and they tried various efforts to kill Mastani and her son. When returning Bajirao setup a Mastani Mahal for Mastani but there also his family didn’t stop their efforts to kill her and put her behind the bar. Bajirao was out during that time for the military campaign. 1. Sanjay Leela Bhansali has never tried to make any historical film before. The filmmaker has also suggested Bajirao Mastani before his first film Khamoshi.
2. After the pairing of Salman-Aishwarya, Salman wanted to cast Katrina for the role of Mastani, but Bhansali told that the role is not made for her.
3. In the year 2003, Bhansali decided to cast Salman and Kareena. Salman recommended Bhumika Chawla as Bajirao’s first wife for the movie. Sanjay Leela took the audition of Bhumika Chawla but her saree caught fire with the diya. There was no damage but Chawla was not selected for the role. Salman and Kareena Jodi didn’t work for the movie and they signed for Kyun Ki Movie.
4. After 12 years. Bhansali recommended Ajay Devgn for the role as Bajiroa is the Marathi and it would be suitable for Ajay Devgn but due to his fee issue he was dropped for the role and Sanjay Leela Bhansali made Ram-Leela Movie.
5. During the shoot Sanjay thought Ranveer don’t have that much capability to fight as warrior but he proved him and he was later chosen for the role of Bajirao. In the shoot Ranveer regularly give Sanjay a wet kiss on his cheek every morning.
6. Deepika and Aishwarya share the same kind of bond with Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali, he just has to think of the role and this actress would act on it.
7. Pinga’s most of the steps are taught by the Bhansali’s cook. Ranveer shaved his head for the role.
8. In the real story Kashibai’s second son and Mastani’s first son were not born on the same day. And during Bajirao’s last breath Mastani was next to him along with Kashibai and not behind bar.
9. Some scene we can observe that Bajirao is fighting alone with 100’s other soldiers but that’s impossible.
10. Movie portrayed that Bajirao and Mastani vow to die together but in real story it was not true and Mastani died few months later after Bajirao’s death.
11. The movie shows that both wives dances together but during the Peshwa’s rule, women of the ruling class never dance.
12. Deepika is seen doing physically tough scenes like sword fighting, sporting 20 Kg armour for the movie.
