Mudras are practise since many years, Mudras are still used in yoga and meditation. By using your hand movement only you can save your body from many diseases. There are 100 of mudras but we have few of common one listed below, check them out and you also can try it by your own and see how they are beneficial.
The Thumb represents the individual or ego.
The Index finger represents wisdom, expansion and openness to change.
The Middle finger represents the conversion of emotion to devotion and patience.
The Ring finger represents our physical health, vitality, grace and beauty
The Little finger represents our power to relate and communicate with others, and to subconsciously communicate with self.
Gyan Mudra - Flexibility for the mind
Touch the tip of your index finger with the tip of your thumb. The other three fingers, you may keep it straight or just keep it free, doesn’t matter even if they are slightly bent.
It is the most common mudra and a simple hand posture is required, it is an exercise for the mind and can be done in early morning. Gyan Mudra is done with the keen knowledge, wisdom and the power of the human mind. This Mudra remove the elementary air from our body as this is very useful for our mind. Practice daily 30 minutes for good results.
Benefits: Enhances knowledge, stimulates the pituitary and endocrine glands, increases memory, helps meditation, prevents insomnia, can boost mood and bring clarity.
Prithvi Mudra - Mudra of Earth
Touch the tip of your ring finger with the tip of your thumb. Pressing the tips of these two fingers, keep the rest of the fingers extended out.
This Mudra reduces the physical weakness and provides strength, vitality and gives endurance to the body. This mudra is useful for removing the disorder in our body and increases earth element like bodily tissues like skin, nails, hairs, bones, muscles, flesh and internal organs. It also helps in decreasing fire element in our body and also help in diet as this Mudra can do wonders. Practice daily 30 -40 minutes for good results
Benefits: loss of weight, acidity, Fever, Jaundice, burning in eyes, Ulcers in mouth.
Agni Mudra - Mudra of Fire
Fold your ring finger and press the second phalanx with the base of your thumb. Keep the rest of the fingers straight.
Agni Mudra also called as Surya Mudra that increases fire element in the body. This is associated with the body temperature and metabolism. The element is also connected with Vision hence regular practise can help in strengthen weak eyes. Practice twice a day 5-15 minutes regular.
Benefits: helps stimulate the thyroid gland, helps to alleviate weight gain and reduces appetite, stimulates digestion, helps relieve anxiety and stress.
Placing the tip of the index finger on the base of the thumb and then bringing gentle pressure of the thumb upon this finger.
Vayu mudra helps to balance the air inside your body, it gives relief to the joint pains and uncontrollable tremors, and if you feel uneasy after the meal than by trying out this Mudra you can get rid of it. It can be also help as a pain reliever for the polio patients. Practice anytime 15 minutes twice.
Benefits: helps to calm an anxious mind, soothe a strained voice and can help decrease stress. This Mudra can also help reduce impatience and indecisiveness.
Varun Mudra - Mudra of Water
The tip of the pinky finger touches the thumb while the other fingers remain straight up.
Varun Mudra balances the water in your body and activates the Fluid content in your body, it also cures the skin diseases like dryness, pimples various skin diseases and skin infections. Moreover it also adds the natural glows and luster on your face. Also helps in pain muscules.
Benefits: helps to balance emotions and helps to retain water. This mudra helps to relieve constipation and cramps and can also help regulate menstrual cycles and hormonal conditions.
Shunya Mudra - Mudra of Emptiness
The tip of the thumb presses the middle finger down while the rest of the fingers stand straight up.
By practising this Mudra you can also get the full concentration and also cure the earache within 5-10 minutes. It reduces the dullness in our body. It is also very useful for the deaf and mentally challenged peoples but not for new born. Practice 40-60 minutes daily for curing the disease. After you cure this disease stop doing this mudra.
